Sian Muir – President Sian Muir is originally from New Zealand where she was a general manager for a retail chain for over a decade. Sian arrived in the U.S. in 2000 where she worked at Dartmouth College in the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network. Coming to St. Olaf College in 2004, she is now the Associate Director for the Finstad Program for Entrepreneurial Studies and an Assistant Professor of Economics teaching entrepreneurship, arts management, and business policy and strategy.

Mary Schmelzer – Vice President Mary Schmelzer, Allied Member ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), co-owns Vivus Architecture + Design with Peter Schmelzer. Vivus is located in downtown Northfield and is dedicated to providing creative, beautiful, and practical design solutions for residential, liturgical, and light commercial clients. Mary also volunteers with a local networking group, her church and children’s schools.

Elizabeth Child – Secretary Elizabeth Child is principal of Elizabeth Child & Company, a marketing communications firm that specializes in creative communications for organizations with messages too meaningful to be reduced to a slogan. She was a founding member and board member for Women in Northfield Giving Support, served on the Board of Directors for the Northfield Arts Guild, and is currently a member of the Northfield Professional Resource Exchange, a business networking organization in Northfield. Loretta Carlson – Treasurer Loretta Carlson is an Assistant Vice President at Community Resource Bank. She has 11 years of service providing opportunities in personal banking, commercial banking, management, marketing, sales, cash flow and fraud. Loretta serves on the CRB Jr. Board of Directors as a co-Advisor and is an active volunteer in her local church and various organizations.

Scott Davis – Board Member Scott Davis is the principal photographer and artistic force behind Davis Portrait Studios, a studio that captures images for all stages of life. In 1992 Scott began his entrepreneurial career launching a network integration company out of his basement and grew it into a million dollar plus organization with 12 employees. In 2000, Scott made several major changes in his life; sold his company, got married, and moved to Northfield from the Twin Cities. After dabbling as a CEO peer group consultant for a few years, Scott combined his love for photography with his entrepreneurial desires and opened what is now known as Davis Portrait Studios. Scott is actively involved in the community. He sits on the City of Northfield’s city council as the Ward 2 councilperson, on the city’s Economic Development Authority and is the Chairperson for the Mill Towns Trail Joint Powers Board.

Rick Estenson – Board Member Rick  served as an auditor for the Chicago Board of Trade, working in Chicago and New York City. He worked with Piper Jaffray, Inc. for more than twenty years in various managerial capacities. Following his time at Piper Jaffray, Rick joined Wells Fargo Bank as an Investment Manager, where he served for three years. Rick is now with the First National Bank of Northfield as Vice President of Business Development. He has lived in Northfield for more than fifteen years and is active in a variety of community organizations including, among other groups, the Northfield Rotary, the Northfield Downtown Development Committee, Northfield United Methodist Church, and the Northfield Chamber of Commerce.

Steve Meyer – Board Member Steve Meyer is a partner in the Minneapolis law firm of Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly LLP and is chair of the firm’s Financial Services Industry Group. He represents banks and other lenders in commercial loan transactions, loan workouts and bankruptcy.

Fred Rogers

Fred Rogers – Board Member Fred Rogers is the vice president and treasurer of Carleton College, and the senior vice president emeritus of Cornell University, having served as Cornell’s chief financial officer for 10 years. He is also the former vice president of business affairs and chief financial officer of Carnegie Mellon University. He has been a leader and innovator among university business officers for 25+ years and has direct experience in the full suite of campus administrative and business responsibilities. A strong believer in collaborative work and mentoring, Fred has been a presenter at many professional meetings and organizations. Fred currently serves as a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) Sustainability Advisory Panel.
