The Executive Directors of the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce, the Northfield Economic Development Authority and the Northfield Enterprise Center participated in a discussion on economic development at the February 5th Downtown Forum, hosted by the Northfield Downtown Development Corporation.  Each organization shared information about their individual plans for 2008, as well as how the organizations work together in support of Northfield area economic development.  Click here for more information, including audio of the forum.

At their January 10, 2008 meeting, the Northfield Economic Development Authority (EDA) approved the 2008 funding request of the Northfield Enterprise Center (NEC). The EDA is the primary funder for the NEC, and has strongly supported the organization, since its inception in 2001. The funding support by the EDA will provide the NEC the financial resources necessary to fulfill their mission and vision in 2008. We thank the EDA for its continuing support and look forward to being a strong partner with the EDA, Chamber of Commerce, the Northfield Downtown Development Corporation and the Latino Enterprise Center in economic development in Northfield.

Scott Davis, local business person, Northfield City Councilor and EDA member has joined the NEC Board. Scott’s skills as an entrepreneur and small business owner, together with his involvement in Northfield economic development, will be great assets for our board.  We are delighted that Scott has joined the team of nine dedicated board members, and look forward to all that he will contribute to the NEC.  To learn more about the NEC and it’s board members, visit the “Who We Are” section of our website.
